When you are flying to a holiday destination or to a new home, one of the worst parts about the trip is figuring out what to do with your kids. Children need to be entertained and a 6 hour stop-over or other delays can have you pulling your hair out, as your kids get bored and frustrated. Finding the most child friendly airport is one way you can avoid the stresses and strains of travelling with children. Many airports have realized the demand and great customer service they would be offering by having activities and entertainment for children, and they are employing more and more child care staff and children’s entertainment staff to deal with the demand. Baltimore/Washington International Airport – they have a play area in the Observation Galley, in the main terminal with play airplane parts like wings, tails, and even the fuselage.

Chicago O’Hare International – they offer a special exhibit called “Kids on the Fly” which has been organized by the Chicago Children’s Museum. This exhibit in Terminal 2 consists of a luggage station, control tower and toy helicopter.

Boston Logan International – in terminal C there is a Kidsport which offers a fun and interactive exhibit with an airplane climbing structure, and a baggage slide.

Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International – there are miniature buildings to explore in a Kidsport in Concourse A.

Miami International – they offer a children’s recreation area in Concourse D.

Dallas/Fort Worth International – this was named one of the most innovative kid friendly airports with 3 Junior Flyer Clubs around the airport, at Terminals B, C and D. These areas offer kids their own runways, roads, planes and cars to play on.
 
San Francisco International – there is a free aviation museum as well as an SFO Kids Spot in Terminal 3.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport – at the McNamara Terminal there are 7 play areas within Concourses A, B and C.

Las Vegas McCarran – you will find an aviation themed play section for kids with a mini control tower and tunnel in Concourse D and an aviation museum in above the baggage claim on level 2.

Nashville International – you will be able to watch live music on three stages and there is a play area for kids in the Concourse connector.

Milwaukee Mitchell International – there is an interesting Mitchell Gallery of Flight for the whole family.
