More Jobs as Oil Discovered in EgyptRecently, Tharwa, the oil and gas company have discovered oil in Egypt in the Eastern Desert in the West Esh El Mallah area. Currently the production level is expected to be 1300 barrels a day. This comes as oil prices rise worldwide, and with the recession starting to subside. The oil discovery poses many new oil jobs in Egypt as the drilling starts. Tharwa signed a deal for the exploration of the 43 square kilometer, or 16.6 square mile, area in August 2009. British Airways Energy Plant to Create 1200 Construct...British Airways are busy building an energy plant that hopes to produce jet fuel out of wastage and this is expected to create up to 1200 airline jobs within the first 2 years. BA says that the plant, to be located in east London, will produce two percent of the amount of fuel needed to fly from London Heathrow, whilst from London City it will produce twice the amount. There are 500 000 tons of waste that can be used every year to make about 16 million gallons of fuel. New Oxane Plant Means 300 Gas and Oil Industry JobsOxane, a company that produces proppants for oil and gas companies is opening a new manufacturing plant in Van Buren which could mean more than 300 oil and gas service jobs in the area. The company’s decision to open a new plant is due to the fact that they have developed a new proppant in conjunction with Rice University which uses nanotechnology. Husky Energy to Expand its Oil Sands Project and Chin...Canada based Husky Energy, the 3rd largest oil company in the country, is planning to expand its portfolios by placing more than 26 percent into two projects, namely the natural gas finds off the coast of China and the massive Oil Sands project. These two projects have been the focus of their attention for the past year after the budget was cut drastically due to the economic downfall. Shell Receives Approval to Drill for Oil in Alaska...The United States Minerals Management Service (USMMS) approved a plan offered by the Royal Dutch Shell Company to start drilling two wells in the Beaufort Sea from July to October 2010. The wells are located on two leases that are 16 and 23 miles off the shore of Point Thomson. Shell had planned various other well drilling in the area, but this plan was not approved due to being inadequately reviewed according to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
