Former Bucs (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) coach, Jon Gruden is taking up a new position it seems, and will be working in the booth alongside Jaws and Mike, commentating on the popular ESPN show, Monday Night Football. Gruden will replace Tony Kornheiser in this spot, after Kornheiser left the show for various reasons. Gruden was fired as Bucs coach after losing 4 games in a row and missing the 2008 playoffs – this after he led the Tampa Bay team to its first Super Bowl in 2003.
Gruden will make his Monday Night Football debut on the 13th August for the preseason Super Bowl game between the Pittsburg Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. Kornheiser will still present segments on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, and has mentioned that if there was anyone to replace him, he would also have picked Jon Gruden.
In other coaching changes news, the Indianapolis Colts have decided to get rid of two of their top assistant coaches, Tom Moore and Howard Mudd. This decision came to be, apparently, due to the changes in the pension system, but some sources believe that the Colts have been waiting for them to retire for a while now, and already have a quarterback who has been with the team for 11 years and various assistants and coaches who can replace them easily. With all the changes going on within the NFL, you can easily become a part of it and secure a great job working with your favorite team. If you prefer the broadcast side of things anyway, you will find lots of these types of jobs as well, when you join Sports Career Finder.
