According to a recent survey, it seems as though the level of customer satisfaction for most airlines is improving with Southwest Airlines at the top of the list for the 17th year in a row. United Airlines brings up the rear. The survey was conducted by interviews with various passengers who were asked about the flight attendants, the food received and the overall flight experience. It seems as though the biggest problem people have with the airlines and flying in general are the fees that are now charged for items that were previously free, such as checked luggage.
The survey results showed that Southwest also have the friendliest flight attendants with the least-friendly flight attendants voted from United Airlines and American Airlines. When looking at the survey results for items that passengers are willing to pay extra for, it came up with extra legroom, internet access, and alcoholic drinks.
As far as the best and worst airline food, passengers only had one thing to say about it, which they would say to the CEO of their favorite airline, “feed us food that you’d eat yourself”. However, the absolute worst food of all the airlines voted over the last 12 months was Delta/Northwest followed by United and American.
However, according to the Satisfaction Index who also ran a study, that the overall customer satisfaction will soon decrease, as flights are getting busier and busier with carry-on’s expected to cause delays and congestion. Airlines are also putting up their fares which customers will find unsatisfactory.
