In response to budget airline Ryanair’s announcement that it will be pulling out of Belfast City International from the 30th October 2010, Flybe, a Devon based airline has announced that it will be flying to three new locations in the UK from Belfast starting on the 31st October. These locations are Bristol, Liverpool, and the East Midlands which are routes that Ryanair previously flew. This plan is said to create a total of 250 indirect airline jobs which will be added to the 215 current jobs that Flybe already provides in the city of Belfast.

They are set to operate 2 daily flights to Bristol and the East Midlands with 4 daily flights scheduled for Liverpool. The news was met with praise by the Tourism Minster in Ireland, Arlene Foster, who said, “I congratulate the airport operator for acting quickly to fill these routes, which were vacated by Ryanair.” She added, “Tourism Ireland will be working with Flybe in Great Britain to maximize the promotion of these new routes.”

Aviation jobs can vary from airline jobs and airport jobs, and aviation maintenance jobs. Some jobs will be based on the ground and as ground staff you will get jobs including air traffic controllers, ticket sales, baggage handlers, reservation consultants, engineers and more. Flight based jobs include those of pilots and flight attendants.

To secure any of these jobs you will have to undergo various types of training and most will require a university qualification. To work in aviation is highly rewarding and you have the ability to earn an excellent salary. Although the airline industry took strain over the last few months due to the closure of airports and company strikes along with the recession dramas, the economy is settling down and air travel is once again taking off – if you’ll excuse the pun!

This was seen in the airline stocks on Thursday the 26th August which rose due to the sharp decline in the jobless rate after unemployment claims dropped by 31 thousand the week before. The U.S Airways share went up to $8.97, a 2 percent rise, while the NYSE Arca Airline Index increased by 1.3 percent. UAL Corp (United Airline’s parent company) and AMR Corp (American Airline’s parent company) rose by 1.8 and 1 percent respectively.

The job report means that more people have jobs and therefore more people are travelling by air, be it for business purposes or leisure. This means that more aviation jobs will be in the cards in the near future as airports and airlines begin to increase and expand their services once more.

If you want to get involved in this potentially high paying industry, then you should check out Airline Job Finder today and become a member. You will then have access to over 180 pages of information regarding all the different airline jobs and airport jobs you can apply for. You will also be able to login to the Job Center and apply for the current aviation industry jobs that are available. New ones are added all the time, so be sure to come back and check on a regular basis.

If all goes according to plan, ex airline pilot Richard Ashbrook could get it right to create 50 to 100 aviation jobs at the Clarkesville-Montgomery County Regional Airport. The initiative is something that he has thought about for many years and will focus the airport to handle more corporate aircraft and passengers. The old maintenance hangar already there will be transformed into a flight school, Pilot Center, and restaurant, with 22 new hangars also being built on the grounds.

The proposal sees Ashbrook partner with the current fixed based operator Robert Wyatt to form Sky Aviation which will make a full service FBO and flight school eligible for VA benefits. This is something that is really needed in the area and Ashbrook wants to start by building two new large hangars south of Outlaw Field, one of them being large enough to house a corporate jet. The other 20 hangars will be for smaller planes.

The main aspect to Sky Aviation becoming a reality is funding, but Ashbrook is already working on a business plan to enable him to apply for a Small Business Administration loan with the help of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. According to Ashbrook, “Dr. (Ronald) Gordon (TSBDC business counselor) says it’s a very strong project and one that is needed here.”

Most of the employment would be in the form of aviation maintenance jobs, but there are also jobs for pilots, trainers and instructors, as well as admin and reception staff, along with restaurant staff. This is a great opportunity to keep your eye on if you hope to get work in aviation maintenance or airport jobs of any kind.

If all goes well, Ashbrook and Wyatt hope to break ground and establish Sky Aviation in the Spring of 2011, which gives you the perfect amount of time to find out all about the different types of airline maintenance jobs there are and to find out what you need to qualify for the jobs that will be on offer. Many of the airport jobs and aviation jobs will require many years of study in engineering, and technical fields, but there are some jobs that you will be able to apply for where very little experience or tertiary education is required.

You can find out more about what jobs these are by visiting Airline Job Finder and becoming a member. Once you are a member you will be able to access the detailed insider information that will really help you when you are looking for aviation maintenance jobs. Aside from getting all the correct information that you could possibly want and need, this website will also help you to apply for jobs with their extensive resume and application guidelines.

Once you have looked at all of these details, you should head on over to the Job Board where you can search through all the latest airline jobs, aviation maintenance jobs, and airport jobs that are currently available to apply for.

JFK International Airport will be getting a makeover in its Delta Airlines Terminals, it was announced by Delta Airlines and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Thursday. They plan to tear down the old Pan American WorldPort and spend $1.2 Billion to make the carrier’s home at JFK more effective, efficient, and able to see to more passengers, also offering about 6400 more airline and airport jobs in the process.

Currently Delta handles nearly a quarter of the annual traffic coming through JFK, equating to nearly 46 billion passengers. The upgrades will increase this capacity even further and improve customer experience.

Business travelers are the main focus of Delta Airlines, as these are the people who spend the most per mile. Delta already mentioned at the beginning of the year that they were willing to spend $1 billion to serve their business class, first class, and elite class travelers. The JFK project will be funded in part by Delta, and the rest will come from passenger facility charges and special project bonds.

The upgrade will include expanding Terminal 4 by 9 passenger gates which will effectively cancel out Terminal 3 which is the Pan American WorldPort Building. This will be torn down over a 24 month period. This terminal is outdated and does not meet the needs of the 21st century traveler with narrow corridors, limited security functions and being hard to keep in top condition for travelers.

Among the 6400 new airport jobs that will be created during the 3 year project, the economy of the area is also supposed to see activity in the region of $1.8 billion, with salary figures coming in at the $360 million mark thanks to the new JFK upgrades.

If you want to take advantage of the new jobs that will be created as a result of the new terminal upgrades, you take the time to read through Airline Job Finder and become a member. You will get details of the latest job openings as well as how to go about securing an airport job or an airline job. You can even get details about how to become a pilot or work on aircraft maintenance.

If you have always dreamed of working with planes and around airports, then this is the ideal place to be to find the exact job of your dreams. Once you have read through the website you will have the opportunity to join as a member where you will get all the in depth details on various airline jobs and airport jobs. You will also get information about how to write an excellent application form and resume for any airline related job, and you will also be able to check out the details of various aviation employers including Delta Airlines.

You should keep checking back to ensure that you don’t miss out on any of the new job openings that come about and when you find the ones that you want to apply for, be ready with your application form and resume, because you can apply directly online for most of the jobs.

At a time when airlines are still cutting back, Virgin America is planning to expand its fleet from 28 to 90 by the year 2016 allowing more airline jobs to be created. According to the announcement made on the 22nd July, the company has ordered 40 new Airbus A320 aircraft which are going to be delivered in groups of 10 per year from 2013 to 2016 with 20 additional aircraft possibly joining the fleet in 2017 and 2018.

The CEO and President of Virgin America, David Cush, and Chief Operating Officer of Airbus, John Leahy both made the announcement at the Farnborough International Airshow of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which stated that Virgin America was growing substantially. Cush stated, “This MOU reflects confidence in our financial performance, business model and unique service. Despite the tough economic climate since our 2007 launch, Virgin America has experienced record growth, strong financial progress and a sweep of the major reader-based travel awards. At a time when most carriers are contracting and shedding jobs, we’re pleased to be growing and bringing our low-fare, innovative service into new markets. The low operating costs, cabin comfort and carbon-efficient design of our all new Airbus fleet will continue to fuel our growth and success in the North American market.”

Virgin America has received many reader awards including “The Best Domestic Airline” from Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards and Travel and Leisure’s World’s Best Awards every year to date since its launch. The quality of service and their environmentally conscious “Sharklet” option means that many more travelers will choose Virgin America.

Currently Virgin is also busy increasing the destinations that it operated in. They expect to add 3 or 4 destinations each year starting from next year. Since their launch they have created 1600 new airline jobs, and they intend to double this within the next 3 years. Its base of operations is also being upgraded at San Francisco International Airport. They are now one of 2 anchor tenants in the brand Silver LEED certified Terminal 2 building which cost $383 million. This is due to open in 2011 also providing plenty of new airport jobs to the San Francisco area.

The U.S economy is directly booted by the purchase of new Airbus aircraft, as it spends about 40 percent of its procurement budget on hundreds of U.S suppliers covering more than 40 States. Just in 2009, Airbus spent over $10 billion in the United States. Translating that into jobs, the U.S Department of Commerce figures that Airbus supports about 180 thousand American jobs.

If you want to find out more about working in the Aviation industry with airline jobs, airport jobs, and aviation maintenance jobs, as well as air craft manufacturing jobs, you should look at Airline Job Finder and become a member. You will get all the in-depth information about the vast aviation industry and about the different kinds of aviation jobs you can get. Learn how to write a good resume and application form so that you can apply directly online for the airline jobs that are constantly added to the Job Board.

In an effort to promote biofuels for use by aircraft, Portland International Airport has joined with the Northwest Aviation biofuels industry as part of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Northwest Project. Other companies involved in the project are the Port of Portland, Seattle-based Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK), Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Spokane International Airport and Washington State University.

The concept is to assess and report on all the different phases of biofuels for aviation from production to the transportation of it for consumption by airlines. Part of this assessment will be to analyze the various biomass resources available for making biofuels including wood pulp, algae, and oilseeds. Climate Solutions is the managing company, a non-profit environmental organization with funding from the participating agencies including Portland International. It is expected to be completed over the next 6 months.

Air travel is efficient, yet one of the most harmful for the environment with over 2 percent of all carbon emissions coming from aircraft. This is why the industry as a whole is looking towards energy rich biofuels as the way forward for aviation instead of using harmful fossil fuels.

In a recent media release, Jim Albaugh, the CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes said that, “Developing a sustainable aviation fuel supply now is a top priority both to ensure continued economic growth and prosperity at regional levels and to support the broader aim of achieving carbon-neutral growth across the industry by 2020.”

Boeing Commercial Airplanes also mentioned that by 2015 they want to be using biofuels for about 1 percent of their annual fuel consumption along with other airlines and aviation companies, which is between 500 million and 600 million gallons. The 4-state initiative will begin in July with the main objective to find affordable and convenient pathways to make biofuels available commercially to all airlines.

If you are thinking about getting into aviation and working for airlines or even at the airports, you can check out Airline Job Finder for the latest aviation job openings. With the aviation industry looking to go into biofuels, it is a great time to start looking for green jobs in aviation. If you want to find out more about aviation maintenance jobs, airline jobs, airport jobs and more, all you have to do is become a member and you will gain access to all the information.

You can also look for details on various airline companies and learn more about their employment programs. Keep an eye on the Job Board for continuously updated job openings that you can apply for directly from the website. If you are interested in making a career change to aviation and are hoping to help out with the biofuels project among other things, then check out the qualifications that you need for each type of aviation job.

Once you discover the jobs in air travel that you really want to become involved in, Airline Job Finder will also be there to help you out in whatever capacity you require for finding and getting an aviation job.

According to a recent survey, it seems as though the level of customer satisfaction for most airlines is improving with Southwest Airlines at the top of the list for the 17th year in a row. United Airlines brings up the rear. The survey was conducted by interviews with various passengers who were asked about the flight attendants, the food received and the overall flight experience. It seems as though the biggest problem people have with the airlines and flying in general are the fees that are now charged for items that were previously free, such as checked luggage.

The survey results showed that Southwest also have the friendliest flight attendants with the least-friendly flight attendants voted from United Airlines and American Airlines. When looking at the survey results for items that passengers are willing to pay extra for, it came up with extra legroom, internet access, and alcoholic drinks.

As far as the best and worst airline food, passengers only had one thing to say about it, which they would say to the CEO of their favorite airline, “feed us food that you’d eat yourself”. However, the absolute worst food of all the airlines voted over the last 12 months was Delta/Northwest followed by United and American.

However, according to the Satisfaction Index who also ran a study, that the overall customer satisfaction will soon decrease, as flights are getting busier and busier with carry-on’s expected to cause delays and congestion. Airlines are also putting up their fares which customers will find unsatisfactory.

As the airline industry is picking up and air travel is becoming more popular again, there are plenty of spots available for air flight attendants, pilots, cabin crew, baggage handlers, ticket agents, and technicians among other airline jobs. You will have to have certain qualifications for many of the airline jobs, but you can learn all about this in the Airline Job Finder members’ area.

You will also be able to research each job in detail that you can get with an airline including government aviation jobs. You will find out what the working conditions are like, what the hours are like, what benefits are included in your job such as dental, paid leave, paid sick leave, vision and prescription insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as free airfare for you as an employee of the company as well as your immediate family. You will normally also be offered a discounted airfare for you and your immediate family if you travel on another airline.

The great thing is that most or all of these benefits start from your first day working for the airline. This is an exciting and interesting career in be in and you will have the opportunity to travel to various destinations that you have always wanted to visit free of charge. If you want to learn more and become a member, make sure that you visit Airline Job Finder right away.

Since the closure of hundreds of airports all over Europe due to the “ash cloud” from the volcano eruption in Iceland in March 2010, the aviation industry has taken a huge knock and lost billions in revenue. Luckily things seen to be back on track and airlines, as well as airports are recovering as air travel is once again picking up. Atlanta’s JF Kennedy Airport is even talking about expanding and upgrading its facilities.

If you hope to work in aviation, but have been a bit wary due to the uncertainty of the industry, now is the time to get involved. If you still need to complete training, whether it is to be a pilot, air traffic controller, airport security or any other air travel job, you should do this right away, because as the industry recovers, jobs will once again become available and you will want to be the first in line to apply for whatever jobs come along.

If you enjoy air travel and want to see the world whilst you earn a living, then becoming an air attendant is a great job opportunity. You will be able to fly to various destinations and see a bit of city at times. This job is also great if you are friendly and enjoy meeting people.

Another aviation job where you can meet people from all over the world is working in the airport directing people and helping travelers find their way around. There are lots of these job openings in various airports around the world that you can find.

Other airport jobs include ticket sellers, baggage handlers, airport security, retail shop cashiers and managers, airport restaurant staff including servers, chefs, managers, and kitchen staff, airport bartenders, and many others behind the scenes, as it were, carrying and loading luggage, checking equipment, loading the food and drinks, clearing the runway, and many others.

Aviation is one of the top inventions the world has ever seen, and with air travel, comes a great many new jobs that were once obsolete. Many of these are in demand nowadays as air travel as literally taken off. Security jobs in airports, air traffic controllers, pilots and engineers are all necessary in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel today and with these and other aviation jobs, you will find plenty of options if you hope to start a career in aviation.

Aviation jobs are broken up into three main categories. You have:

Aviation Maintenance Jobs

Airline Jobs

Airport Jobs

Each of these offers unique jobs and career opportunities all over the world for thousands of people. Currently with the number of new airlines emerging and merging, as well as brand new aircrafts being unveiled, the demand for jobs in all three industry categories grows.

More aviation engineers and maintenance jobs are needed to be filled so that the aircraft can be properly maintained, checked, and rechecked. This job can see you working on commercial planes as well as small private planes. These are mostly issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, but you can find jobs working for small private aviation maintenance companies.

Another aviation job in high demand is that of air traffic controllers. This is a highly pressurized job that not many people can do and only the best of the best are hired. With the safety requirements and standards of all airlines and airports, air traffic controllers are constantly hired to ensure that there is always someone watching over the skies. The air traffic controller not only tells planes when they can land, but they have to coordinate schedules for all the planes to ensure that the runway is never backed up and that planes are not circling for too long and losing fuel in the air.

Another airport job that is in demand, mostly since 9-11 is that of airport security. Whether you are stationed outside in the car parks and entrances, or inside the passenger lounges, baggage holding areas, or terminal gates, airport security is very important and lots of jobs are offered for just one airport. This job is perhaps one of the easiest to get in the aviation industry as you will not require any sort of degree, just a certain level of special training.

Pilots are highly skilled individuals who earn over 100K a year and who are entrusted with the safety of flying a huge plane across oceans with hundreds of passengers. This job is one of responsibility and to become a pilot takes a lot of hard work, skill, practice and instinct. You have to be alert at all times and ready to make fast decisions in the case of an emergency. You are in charge once you are up in the air and pilots have to be able to handle this.

These jobs are all in demand and there are plenty of openings that you will find when you visit Airline Job Finder. You will also find out more details about other airline and airport jobs and how to get the job you have always wanted.

If you have always wanted to travel and explore the world, but never knew how you were going to get there, you should find out more about becoming a flight attendant. Now, of course this is a hard aviation job, but flight attendants do get some of the best perks in the business, such as a room in a Las Vegas hotel with spending money! Flight attendant jobs are some of the most popular jobs in the world, but there are simply not enough jobs to meet the demand, so this is why if you hope to make it, you have to be excellent at what you do.

There are various tests and examinations that you will have to pass, so always be fully prepared. The life of a flight attendant might sound dreamy, but there are tough times as well. You might be stranded somewhere, be part of an emergency landing, or have to deal with unruly passengers. The flight attendant is almost like the waitress of the skies, and you always have to put on your best smile and friendliest attitude.

The salary for flight attendants varies according to the airline you work for. Some pay by the hour, meaning the hour from when you step on board and the ending when you step off the plane. You have to get your various trip details and login to your flight at least an hour before. You should always carry a flight kit with you which includes some emergency items and extra clothes.

You will be assigned to first class, economy class, or business class in some cases and you will have to start preparing drinks before the passengers board the plane. The flight attendant will also be in charge of the flight manifest which details all the passengers and lists food specifications, gate connections, and more.

Once the plane is up in the air, the flight attendants will also prepare the food for the passengers and brew coffee among other small things. Other than this, the remainder of the flight is normally quiet. You should pack a book into your kit so that you can read on the flight in between assisting passengers where necessary. In the first class your work will be more involved and you will use proper serving ware for the drinks and the food.

Once the plane has landed after its trip, the flight attendants are normally offered an 8 hour rest at least. Some advice is to unplug you phone so that you are totally undisturbed. There are lots of pros to becoming a flight attendant, but some cons as well like being away from your family and friends. The benefits though, include the money, the chance to explore the world and see places that you only dreamed of.
