If all goes according to plan, ex airline pilot Richard Ashbrook could get it right to create 50 to 100 aviation jobs at the Clarkesville-Montgomery County Regional Airport. The initiative is something that he has thought about for many years and will focus the airport to handle more corporate aircraft and passengers. The old maintenance hangar already there will be transformed into a flight school, Pilot Center, and restaurant, with 22 new hangars also being built on the grounds.

The proposal sees Ashbrook partner with the current fixed based operator Robert Wyatt to form Sky Aviation which will make a full service FBO and flight school eligible for VA benefits. This is something that is really needed in the area and Ashbrook wants to start by building two new large hangars south of Outlaw Field, one of them being large enough to house a corporate jet. The other 20 hangars will be for smaller planes.

The main aspect to Sky Aviation becoming a reality is funding, but Ashbrook is already working on a business plan to enable him to apply for a Small Business Administration loan with the help of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. According to Ashbrook, “Dr. (Ronald) Gordon (TSBDC business counselor) says it’s a very strong project and one that is needed here.”

Most of the employment would be in the form of aviation maintenance jobs, but there are also jobs for pilots, trainers and instructors, as well as admin and reception staff, along with restaurant staff. This is a great opportunity to keep your eye on if you hope to get work in aviation maintenance or airport jobs of any kind.

If all goes well, Ashbrook and Wyatt hope to break ground and establish Sky Aviation in the Spring of 2011, which gives you the perfect amount of time to find out all about the different types of airline maintenance jobs there are and to find out what you need to qualify for the jobs that will be on offer. Many of the airport jobs and aviation jobs will require many years of study in engineering, and technical fields, but there are some jobs that you will be able to apply for where very little experience or tertiary education is required.

You can find out more about what jobs these are by visiting Airline Job Finder and becoming a member. Once you are a member you will be able to access the detailed insider information that will really help you when you are looking for aviation maintenance jobs. Aside from getting all the correct information that you could possibly want and need, this website will also help you to apply for jobs with their extensive resume and application guidelines.

Once you have looked at all of these details, you should head on over to the Job Board where you can search through all the latest airline jobs, aviation maintenance jobs, and airport jobs that are currently available to apply for.

JFK International Airport will be getting a makeover in its Delta Airlines Terminals, it was announced by Delta Airlines and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Thursday. They plan to tear down the old Pan American WorldPort and spend $1.2 Billion to make the carrier’s home at JFK more effective, efficient, and able to see to more passengers, also offering about 6400 more airline and airport jobs in the process.

Currently Delta handles nearly a quarter of the annual traffic coming through JFK, equating to nearly 46 billion passengers. The upgrades will increase this capacity even further and improve customer experience.

Business travelers are the main focus of Delta Airlines, as these are the people who spend the most per mile. Delta already mentioned at the beginning of the year that they were willing to spend $1 billion to serve their business class, first class, and elite class travelers. The JFK project will be funded in part by Delta, and the rest will come from passenger facility charges and special project bonds.

The upgrade will include expanding Terminal 4 by 9 passenger gates which will effectively cancel out Terminal 3 which is the Pan American WorldPort Building. This will be torn down over a 24 month period. This terminal is outdated and does not meet the needs of the 21st century traveler with narrow corridors, limited security functions and being hard to keep in top condition for travelers.

Among the 6400 new airport jobs that will be created during the 3 year project, the economy of the area is also supposed to see activity in the region of $1.8 billion, with salary figures coming in at the $360 million mark thanks to the new JFK upgrades.

If you want to take advantage of the new jobs that will be created as a result of the new terminal upgrades, you take the time to read through Airline Job Finder and become a member. You will get details of the latest job openings as well as how to go about securing an airport job or an airline job. You can even get details about how to become a pilot or work on aircraft maintenance.

If you have always dreamed of working with planes and around airports, then this is the ideal place to be to find the exact job of your dreams. Once you have read through the website you will have the opportunity to join as a member where you will get all the in depth details on various airline jobs and airport jobs. You will also get information about how to write an excellent application form and resume for any airline related job, and you will also be able to check out the details of various aviation employers including Delta Airlines.

You should keep checking back to ensure that you don’t miss out on any of the new job openings that come about and when you find the ones that you want to apply for, be ready with your application form and resume, because you can apply directly online for most of the jobs.

At a time when airlines are still cutting back, Virgin America is planning to expand its fleet from 28 to 90 by the year 2016 allowing more airline jobs to be created. According to the announcement made on the 22nd July, the company has ordered 40 new Airbus A320 aircraft which are going to be delivered in groups of 10 per year from 2013 to 2016 with 20 additional aircraft possibly joining the fleet in 2017 and 2018.

The CEO and President of Virgin America, David Cush, and Chief Operating Officer of Airbus, John Leahy both made the announcement at the Farnborough International Airshow of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which stated that Virgin America was growing substantially. Cush stated, “This MOU reflects confidence in our financial performance, business model and unique service. Despite the tough economic climate since our 2007 launch, Virgin America has experienced record growth, strong financial progress and a sweep of the major reader-based travel awards. At a time when most carriers are contracting and shedding jobs, we’re pleased to be growing and bringing our low-fare, innovative service into new markets. The low operating costs, cabin comfort and carbon-efficient design of our all new Airbus fleet will continue to fuel our growth and success in the North American market.”

Virgin America has received many reader awards including “The Best Domestic Airline” from Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards and Travel and Leisure’s World’s Best Awards every year to date since its launch. The quality of service and their environmentally conscious “Sharklet” option means that many more travelers will choose Virgin America.

Currently Virgin is also busy increasing the destinations that it operated in. They expect to add 3 or 4 destinations each year starting from next year. Since their launch they have created 1600 new airline jobs, and they intend to double this within the next 3 years. Its base of operations is also being upgraded at San Francisco International Airport. They are now one of 2 anchor tenants in the brand Silver LEED certified Terminal 2 building which cost $383 million. This is due to open in 2011 also providing plenty of new airport jobs to the San Francisco area.

The U.S economy is directly booted by the purchase of new Airbus aircraft, as it spends about 40 percent of its procurement budget on hundreds of U.S suppliers covering more than 40 States. Just in 2009, Airbus spent over $10 billion in the United States. Translating that into jobs, the U.S Department of Commerce figures that Airbus supports about 180 thousand American jobs.

If you want to find out more about working in the Aviation industry with airline jobs, airport jobs, and aviation maintenance jobs, as well as air craft manufacturing jobs, you should look at Airline Job Finder and become a member. You will get all the in-depth information about the vast aviation industry and about the different kinds of aviation jobs you can get.

In an effort to promote biofuels for use by aircraft, Portland International Airport has joined with the Northwest Aviation biofuels industry as part of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Northwest Project. Other companies involved in the project are the Port of Portland, Seattle-based Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK), Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Spokane International Airport and Washington State University.

The concept is to assess and report on all the different phases of biofuels for aviation from production to the transportation of it for consumption by airlines. Part of this assessment will be to analyze the various biomass resources available for making biofuels including wood pulp, algae, and oilseeds. Climate Solutions is the managing company, a non-profit environmental organization with funding from the participating agencies including Portland International. It is expected to be completed over the next 6 months.

Air travel is efficient, yet one of the most harmful for the environment with over 2 percent of all carbon emissions coming from aircraft. This is why the industry as a whole is looking towards energy rich biofuels as the way forward for aviation instead of using harmful fossil fuels.

In a recent media release, Jim Albaugh, the CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes said that, “Developing a sustainable aviation fuel supply now is a top priority both to ensure continued economic growth and prosperity at regional levels and to support the broader aim of achieving carbon-neutral growth across the industry by 2020.”

Boeing Commercial Airplanes also mentioned that by 2015 they want to be using biofuels for about 1 percent of their annual fuel consumption along with other airlines and aviation companies, which is between 500 million and 600 million gallons. The 4-state initiative will begin in July with the main objective to find affordable and convenient pathways to make biofuels available commercially to all airlines.

If you are thinking about getting into aviation and working for airlines or even at the airports, you can check out Airline Job Finder for the latest aviation job openings. With the aviation industry looking to go into biofuels, it is a great time to start looking for green jobs in aviation. If you want to find out more about aviation maintenance jobs, airline jobs, airport jobs and more, all you have to do is become a member and you will gain access to all the information.

You can also look for details on various airline companies and learn more about their employment programs. Keep an eye on the Job Board for continuously updated job openings that you can apply for directly from the website. If you are interested in making a career change to aviation and are hoping to help out with the biofuels project among other things, then check out the qualifications that you need for each type of aviation job.

Once you discover the jobs in air travel that you really want to become involved in, Airline Job Finder will also be there to help you out in whatever capacity you require for finding and getting an aviation job.

Aviation is one of the top inventions the world has ever seen, and with air travel, comes a great many new jobs that were once obsolete. Many of these are in demand nowadays as air travel as literally taken off. Security jobs in airports, air traffic controllers, pilots and engineers are all necessary in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel today and with these and other aviation jobs, you will find plenty of options if you hope to start a career in aviation.

Aviation jobs are broken up into three main categories. You have:

Aviation Maintenance Jobs

Airline Jobs

Airport Jobs

Each of these offers unique jobs and career opportunities all over the world for thousands of people. Currently with the number of new airlines emerging and merging, as well as brand new aircrafts being unveiled, the demand for jobs in all three industry categories grows.

More aviation engineers and maintenance jobs are needed to be filled so that the aircraft can be properly maintained, checked, and rechecked. This job can see you working on commercial planes as well as small private planes. These are mostly issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, but you can find jobs working for small private aviation maintenance companies.

Another aviation job in high demand is that of air traffic controllers. This is a highly pressurized job that not many people can do and only the best of the best are hired. With the safety requirements and standards of all airlines and airports, air traffic controllers are constantly hired to ensure that there is always someone watching over the skies. The air traffic controller not only tells planes when they can land, but they have to coordinate schedules for all the planes to ensure that the runway is never backed up and that planes are not circling for too long and losing fuel in the air.

Another airport job that is in demand, mostly since 9-11 is that of airport security. Whether you are stationed outside in the car parks and entrances, or inside the passenger lounges, baggage holding areas, or terminal gates, airport security is very important and lots of jobs are offered for just one airport. This job is perhaps one of the easiest to get in the aviation industry as you will not require any sort of degree, just a certain level of special training.

Pilots are highly skilled individuals who earn over 100K a year and who are entrusted with the safety of flying a huge plane across oceans with hundreds of passengers. This job is one of responsibility and to become a pilot takes a lot of hard work, skill, practice and instinct. You have to be alert at all times and ready to make fast decisions in the case of an emergency. You are in charge once you are up in the air and pilots have to be able to handle this.

These jobs are all in demand and there are plenty of openings that you will find when you visit Airline Job Finder. You will also find out more details about other airline and airport jobs and how to get the job you have always wanted.

During March, Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of the Alaska Air Group, reported that its load factor increased to 84.5 percent from 81.6 percent the year before. The load factor is the percentage of paying passengers occupying the available seats. They were also on time more often during the past year, jumping from 70.2 percent to 87.2 percent.

The airline also reported that the number of revenue passenger miles increased from 1.56 billion in March 2009 to 1.65 billion, which means it has risen by 5.8 percent. The increases are not just for Alaska Airlines, but their sister, Horizon Air has also seen an increase in revenue passenger miles by 6.6 percent, making it 204 million. Horizon’s load factor was also affected, rising to 73.3 percent from 69.5 percent of last year. Their on-time performance also improved from 86 percent to 91.1 percent.

These statistics show that the number of people flying from Seattle-Tacoma International is increasing, partly due to the improving economy, and these two airlines fly up to half the passengers that come to the airport.

Taking into account the improvement of the airlines, there are plenty of opportunities for airline jobs and more money to be made at various other airlines. The airports around the world are also starting to recover from the economic recession meaning that you will also have more luck looking for airport jobs.

Airport security jobs and jobs working at ticket desks and baggage counters will increase due to the increased number of passengers using the airports. Actual airlines will benefit from hiring additional air attendants, pilots, and marketing professionals among other employees.

If you are interested in working for an airline or an airport all you have to do is find out more about what it takes to be an airline employee and work on board the aircraft.

With the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup just a few months away, South Africa has been upgrading all of its main airports in anticipation of the millions of tourists expected to arrive in June. The airports are completed or are due to be completed by the end of the month. The operational plans are due to be completed in May with 450000 passengers set to come through the airport in the first week of the World Cup starting on the 11 June.

The group manager of Acsa in charge of the operations said that about 45 slots were used an hour at Ortia, but now with the renovations, the airport can handle up to 120 thousand more than the norm during the June and July months. Acsa is also planning a 24 hour operation according to the match schedules, and they are also training staff to speak Spanish, Italian, French, and German.

The other airports around the country have also been doing renovations including Cape Town International Airport, Upington, Bloemfontein, East London, Kimberly, Port Elizabeth, and King Shaka International Airport in Kwa Zulu Natal. These airports are also all planning a dedicated terminal for the soccer teams with a public viewing area.

Things are picking up for many United States airlines as the low fuel costs helped them to profit this last quarter. Continental Airlines and Southwest Airlines were two of the major improvers in share prices with Southwest gaining by 2.8 percent in the afternoon trading on Thursday. The Chairman of Continental, Jeff Smisek, noted that while the airline was seeing a slight improvement, it would take a long time before they reached a full year’s profitability. With the increased number of corporate travelers, AMR, American Airline’s parent company, have predicted that this will signify a huge turnaround in air travel in 2010.

With the fourth quarter improving markedly on the third quarter of 2009, the 2010 year is expected to be a much more profitable one as the recession shows signs of slowing down for the airline industry.

There are many people in the world who would love to get into an aircraft and fly for a living. This dream, unfortunately, only comes true for some people, and for the rest, we have to be content with taking other airline and airport jobs such as being an air traffic controller. This is an important job without which planes and other aircraft would not be able to take off and land at certain airports.

Most air traffic controllers are employed by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), and some are employed by the actual airport committee. You will require very particular skills if you hope to take your air traffic controller examinations and pass the courses that you will need to take so that you can be fully qualified.

Most air traffic controller job training can be done at an aviation school where airline attendants and pilots can also take courses. The most important thing to ask yourself before you go ahead to any of these schools is, “Do I have the right personality and discipline for this job?” This is a job that requires your full attention at all times, and without it you could be the cause of some serious mid air crashes and problems.

The first thing you have to check is how well you listen. You have to notice and take in everything that is going on around you. You must be able to listen and take instructions at all times, as well as give instructions. You might be faced with some tough calls and some hair raising flying procedures, so you have to be a person that is calm under pressure. You also have to be a great leader with a clear, commanding voice so that you are never misunderstood, as this can be very dangerous for pilots, crew and passengers alike.

To get your qualification, you will have to find a great school that offers the best courses. You can find out all of this by asking some other air traffic controllers, finding out from people who have taken these courses before, like other students, and also by looking for reviews online. Once you have decided which course is the best for you and gives you plenty of practical and theoretical examinations, you should not hesitate to apply. Most air traffic controller students are expected to complete the course in about 2 to 8 weeks. Of course you can take longer if you plan on studying as a part time or weekend activity while you still have another job to go to. On the completion of your course, once you have received your certificate, you can send in your air traffic controller job applications.

You can find out how to do this easily by checking a few websites including Airline Job Finder. This website offers you the best in terms of aviation knowledge and the most current job openings around. They are also able to assist you with planning your resume and application forms, and once you have your qualification, you can come back to start looking for a top air traffic controller job, or any other in an aviation industry environment.
