Alaska Gets 4 New Oil RigsThis week the number of active oil rigs in the United States dropped to 1243, making a decline of 57 altogether. Most of the oil rigs have been listed as searching for natural gas (970), while 260 of them have been looking for oil, and 13 are listed as miscellaneous. The largest oil producing states have been affected the most with Texas losing 26 oil rigs, 7 each being lost by Colorado, Louisiana, and New Mexico, 4 were lost by North Dakota, Oklahoma lost 10, and Wyoming have lost 2.
