200 Aviation Jobs to be created in the US for 2010Thanks to a partnership between China Aviation Industry Corp (AVIC) and General Electric Co. (GE), 200 new aviation industry jobs are expected in the United States pending regulatory approval in mid 2010. The joint venture will allow avionics equipment and systems to be exported from both countries. They are to be integrated into the new commercial aircraft. Jobs in the Aviation Industry The bidding will start on the new Commercial Aircraft Corp single aisle 168 seat plane. This will be in direct competition with the Boeing 737 model, and the Airbus A320. Republic Airways Offering 400 Airline JobsThree cities are in the running for the 400 or so airline jobs that are up for grabs since Republic Airways Holdings Inc purchased Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines. The three cities in the running are Milwauake, Indianapolis (where Republic Airways is based), and Denver. The 400 airline jobs are linked to heavy airline maintenance and airline reservations. The three cities are vying to host the 400 jobs to build up the economies in each area with Denver already committing to job creation costing $ 1 million and various training tax credits. Hernando County Airport Offers 100 Acres to Create 50...The Hernando Country Airport in Florida currently has 100 businesses on its land which spans 2400 acres. These 2400 acres only accounts for about 26 percent of the available land under that airport’s name. It is hoping to attract yet another large company to lease 100 acres of the land for free which is set to provide 500 more jobs in the aviation industry. Aero Logic has another eight Boeing 777 Freighters on order to complete a fleet designed specifically for cargo and commercial aviation purposes. Airports Turning to Solar PowerAbout $14 million is going to be spent on placing solar farms at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. At the moment 7 to 10 acres of the airport’s property is going to be set aside for these solar projects. The solar power will only be enough to power a small percentage of the airport’s energy, but eventually the airport wants to expand its solar farms to cover much more of Charlotte/Douglas International’s 6000 acres of land.
