The Cook Inlet in Alaska will see the first oil rig drilling in 16 years if all goes according to plan. A joint venture between Kenai Offshore Ventures, a subsidiary of Buccaneer Energy Ltd., Sydney, and Ezion Holdings Ltd., Singapore has been approved by the Alaska Industrial Development & Export Authority (AIDEA) in the hopes that it will provide a huge profit for the area and create plenty of oil rig jobs and oil drilling jobs. Buccaneer was able to enter the inlet due to having recently purchased Stellar Oil and Gas

KOV estimates that over 500 oil and gas jobs will be created due to this 5 year drilling plan which has secured a $109.5 million contract.

AIDEA Board Chairman Mike Felix commented, “Today’s Board action is the culmination of many months of hard work by a dedicated team of people devoted to the successful completion of thorough due diligence and complex negotiations for the benefit of Alaskans. We are very pleased to take this important step with Buccaneer, and to move forward with much-needed drilling in the Cook Inlet.”

“AIDEA is perfect for this type of enterprise because its reason for being is to work both public and private sector issues to create jobs, tax bases and opportunities in Alaska,” said CEO of Buccaneer Energy, Curtis Burton.

The production of oil and gas from the Jubilee field in the Tano Block off the coast of Ghana has commenced with partners expecting to reach 55,000 barrels a day by the end of 2010. With the additional wells due to be completed early in 2011, the oil production is expected to increase to 120,000 barrels a day. Operator of the field, Tullow Oil PLC, has indicated that the first tanker of oil should leave Jubilee in January 2011.

The first oil flowed into the floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) on the 28th November which was used to commission the facilities. According to Kosmos Energy LLC, the technical operator for development of the project, and the discoverers of the Jubilee field in 2007 said that, “the accelerated timetable represents one of the shortest cycles for any deepwater FPSO-based oil project of this scale in ultradeep water.”

The commercial oil production will have plenty of economic advantage for Ghana with expected annual revenue of $4 billion being generated due to the offshore oil drilling. The historic occasion was marked with Ghanaian President, John Atta Mills opening the valves on the floating platform.

The FPSO is designed to remain in the water for 20 years and will be able to process 120,000 barrels of oil per day as well as 160 mcf of gas. It has a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels of oil. The oil produced here is likely to be light and sweet, much like the North Sea oil and ideal for yielding the more costly transport fuels like diesel.

Production and exploitation of the field will take about 25 years according to Tullow and then nearby oil fields like those in West Cape Three Points and Deepwater Tano will be explored.

If you want to get involved in the oil and gas industry and find out more about how you can get work on board one of these offshore oil rigs, then you should visit Oil Job Finder. The oil and gas industry is a very lucrative industry where every employee makes a huge amount of money. The jobs can also be very dangerous, especially on a rig, but this is part of the excitement and is part of the reason you earn such a good wage.

If you want to gain access to the latest job openings in the oil and gas industry, then you should keep an eye on the Job Board once you become a member for all the newest openings.

According to Oil and Gas UK, there have been new oil fields discovered in the once thought to be depleted North Sea. These fields have sparked hope for many Oil companies in the UK, specifically those involved in the production of oil rigs. There are about 70 new oil fields that Jim Masterton of McNulty Offshore plans to operate, but he warns that other UK companies need to jump on the oil boom while they can and cash in on the £6 Billion that will be put into the oil boom off the coast of Scotland. McNulty Offshore employs over 500 people, but says that other British fabrication companies will have to change the way they do things in order to take full advantage. There will be plenty of oil rig jobs, and oil rig fabrication jobs available if they get this right.

According to Masterton, most offshore oil companies believe that the British yards are too small to handle the oil rig production and refurbishment of the old oil rigs. “That is how they think. The work too often goes to yards in Europe, irrespective of what we have to offer. We are most certainly monitoring the situation, but the solution to the problem of winning orders lies in fabrication yards on the east coast getting together and demonstrating that we have the capability to deliver.”

With the 70 new oil fields being ideally placed for the North East to cash in, many express being at the forefront of bidding for the new work in fabrication, production, and refurbishment of large oil rigs. According to economist, Mike Tholen, this year alone, the area has been primary source of energy for the UK, with 94 percent of oil and 68 percent of gas coming from the North Sea. He says, “With sustained investment, encouraged by the right business environment, we will have enough oil and gas still to satisfy half of the UK’s needs in 2020.”

With this great news for the UK, you will find that more and more oil rig jobs will be made available over the coming years as well as oil drilling jobs if the local oil companies get some contracts for the North Sea area. This will ensure many more new oil industry jobs for Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and England, so this is the area to get to if you want to start earning good money.

If you want to find out about all the different kinds of oil and gas industry jobs that you can get, make sure that you visit Oil Job Finder and become a member. Once you are a member, you will find that you have access to the most detailed oil rig job information as well as how to go about applying for various oil jobs.

The end of trading on Monday, oil had risen by 2 percent to $87, which is the highest it has been since October 2008. The rise in prices is due to the improvement of the US housing market, employment rates, and the overall optimism of the recovering economy. The Brent crude oil price reached $85.88 a barrel having risen by $1.87 whilst the US crude oil settled on $86.62 after rising in the fastest 5 day streak since December.

The oil industry’s prices indicate far more confidence in the resource and shows that jobs in this sector will continue to become available. The demand for oil means that more oil exploration jobs will be offered as more energy companies compete. Looking at the stocks, oil, natural gas, and heating oil all rose and the analysts suggest that prices will rise even higher. This is despite the hijacking of a South Korean crude oil tanker off the East Coast of Africa over the weekend. This tanker was supposedly carrying 2.4 percent of the world’s daily oil supply.

With there being virtually no demand for oil over the past few years, most oil companies have plenty of oil and natural gas reserves, so according to oil giant OPEC, there are no immediate plans to increase oil outputs. This has also helped to increase the crude oil stocks which are above the 5 year average at the moment.

With this in mind, you will find that now is a brilliant time to get involved in the oil and gas industry and find out more about the oil exploration, oil drilling, and reservoir jobs that are out there. You can choose to work on oil rigs or in some of the well known oil reserves including North Dakota, Alaska, and the oil sands project in Canada.

If you want to learn more about how you fit into the oil and gas jobs sector, you should join the Oil Job Finder website where you can learn everything you need to know about working in gas and oil, and get updated whenever new job offers are available. You can discover how to apply for a job in oil and gas, what you need to study, and how much you will earn in this line of work. With the oil prices rising and the demand increasing, now is the perfect time to become a member and get involved.

Things are looking up for the oil industry and it seems as though the oil job market is stabilizing according to the latest Brent Crude and U.S Crude oil prices. Thursday the 4th June 2009, saw the oil price rise to a new high of almost $68 a barrel, which came in the wake of a United States Unemployment Data analysis, which showed that less people are filing claims for unemployment benefits.

There is an increased demand for oil, and the higher prices were also supported by the forecasts of the Goldman Sachs U.S investment bank for $85 per barrel towards the end of 2009 and the introduction of a 2010 end of year forecast of $95 per barrel. The U.S Crude oil price rose by $1.50 per barrel, while the London Brent Crude rose by $1.68 per barrel, just before 2pm (GMT). This resurgence in the oil industry has created more stability for the oil job market and therefore saw the filing claims for unemployment benefits fall for a third week in a row, which is also stimulating a better oil price.
