The maiden voyage of Norwegian Cruise Lines newest ship, the Epic, took place from Miami on the 8th July and was met with some mixed reactions. This uniquely designed ship offers everything you can possibly imagine on a cruise ship including wave-like cabin designs instead of the ordinary box shaped ones, as well as plenty of entertainment to keep you busy, an authentic Irish pub with bowling alleys, tribute shows, and much more. The brick walls give it a distinct look, and whilst many people fault it for being ugly, one can only compare this to the iconic Eiffel Tower, which was also once considered an eyesore.

The Epic is described as impressionist and would fit in perfectly with works by famed artists such as Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. To tie this in, the Le Bistro French restaurant on board displays plenty of Picassos and Chagalls with a huge 40 thousand piece chandelier dangling over the atrium, the largest chandelier at sea.

Whilst on board you have to make time to catch all of the live shows and concerts, including Cirque Dreams, described by NCL as, “opulent eccentricity à la entertainment extravaganza presented with an array of world-class talent, Broadway acrobatics, a touch of whimsy, and tasteful participation.”

The Epic was christened by country star Reba McIntire and dares to be different, even having a 13th floor, where most or all other hotels and ships steer clear of the supposedly unlucky number and skip from 12 to 14. It weighs over 150 thousand tons and holds up to 4100 passengers. Among its unique features, the Epic boasts the largest spa at sea and also offers cabins for single passengers which is a new concept. The casino is also the largest among NCL cruise ships and for kids the water park has the largest slides. Aside from the French Bistro and Irish pub, there are 18 other dining options that you have.

It is estimated that the Epic will bring over 90 thousand people to the Miami Airport and 300 thousand people to the city every year boosting the economy by about $3 million. This will also lead to about 1000 cruise liner jobs and hospitality jobs in the state, which you can easily be part of by visiting Cruise Job Finder and becoming a member. The cruise jobs and shore based jobs are only part of this, but other hospitality and tourism jobs will also become available as more people frequent the city.

You can learn more about the different kinds of cruise liner jobs and hospitality jobs by visiting the website and joining as a member where you will gain access to this information as well as how to write your resume and fill out the applications forms professionally. There are many jobs that you can find in Miami and other ports around the world by looking at the Job Board frequently on the Cruise Job Finder website. With this continuously updated information you can make the best decision when it comes to getting a cruise ship, travel and tourism, hospitality, or resort job.

Travelling might be one of the things on your list when you graduate, or even throughout your life. The problem is that when we have work every day of the week from 9 to 5, travelling does tend to get left on the side lines. This means that only when we retire do we start planning our travels. Now, this might suit some people, but for those that want to see the world before they have to see it through bifocals, you should think about embarking on a working vacation.

Travelling while you earn a living is definitely a grand way to live, but not many people do it. They might decide that working on a cruise ship or for a beach resort is not a real job. A lot of people think that you need to study and settle down somewhere to be a success. But why not work in all different locations for numerous companies throughout your life.

You can easily find perfect jobs that are suited to your skills and qualifications that take you across vast ocean and to exotic locations. You could find yourself teaching aerobics on a state of the art cruise liner headed for the Caribbean, or you could work in the finest beach restaurant in Europe.

Whatever beach resort job or cruise ship job you want to apply for you will find that there is high demand. The cruise industry for example, is the best market to work in at the moment, as sales are continuing to rise despite the economic downfall. New terminals and cruise ships are being built all the time which means that jobs are always available.

So, why is a working vacation beneficial?

Well, there are a number of reasons that you should work while you travel. If you are just one of those people who can’t stay in one place or one job for very long, working in different locations in various job capacities will curb your curiosity and boredom while allowing you to make money.

You can also earn quite a lot of money on a cruise liner or at a beach resort which is another great reason to apply for a hospitality job in one of these tourism industries. If you love to travel and learn about new cultures and new destinations then why not make money at the same time.

It will save you the trouble of working in a boring job you might hate, just to save up enough money to take a trip. This way you can have the best of both worlds. You will also get coverage for medical and disability insurance depending on the company that hires you.

The great thing about getting a travelling job is that you will also get to meet lots of interesting people from all over the world. You can learn a lot about other cultures and get to work in an exciting environment. Who knows? You may even get to learn a new language!

When you decide that you want to work on a cruise ship, private yacht, as a tour guide, or at a beach resort, you should bear in mind that you can do this as a part time gig while you study or just after you leave school to get some great life experience. You can also choose to make a working vacation your full time career. If you want to find out more about getting a great travel job you should become a member of Cruise Job Finder and check out the job board.

In November 2009, South Africa’s only cruise liner company, Starlight Cruises, will launch the newest member of its fleet, the luxury MSC Sinfonia. This will be the largest luxury cruise liner to operate out of South Africa and will set sail on its maiden voyage from Durban to the islands and coasts around the Indian Ocean including Madagascar and Mozambique. The Sinfonia boasts 778 cabins, of which 138 have private balconies, and there are also many luxury facilities for passengers to enjoy. This also provides plenty of new cruise jobs in the three restaurants, seven bars, spa, business center, fitness center, 2 pools, internet café, cigar room, disco, golf simulator, teen club, library, mini club, and medical center.

These facilities mean that there will be hundreds of new hospitality jobs, travel jobs and more. You can work on this cruise ship as a chef, steward, deckhand, doctor, children’s activity manager, entertainer, massage therapist, beautician, sports trainer, fitness instructor, housekeeping, hotel management, and much more. Everyone is catered for on the Sinfonia, which means that no matter what skill set you possess, and no matter what industry you are involved in, there could be a job opening for you. To learn about how to apply for cruise ship employment on board luxury cruise liners like this one, you can visit the Cruise Job Finder website today. You can find out how to post your resume, how to send in the best possible application for various travel and cruise jobs, and you can search through a comprehensive database of hundreds of cruise industry jobs that are just waiting for you to apply to.

The introduction of the MSC Sinfonia will also dramatically increase the revenue for the Port of Durban and significantly increase the number of travel jobs and other hospitality jobs in the area. The annual capacity for Durban is expected to increase during the 2010/2010 season by about 70000 passengers, which will open up plenty of additional job opportunities in tourism, such as tour guides, instructors, waitrons, barmen, hotel staff and more. Along with that various suppliers in Durban would also benefit greatly.

Various cruise line companies have opened their 2010 – 2011 schedules for bookings with many showing a renewed interest in American ports. Royal Caribbean International is offered plenty of Caribbean round trips and lots of stops in at Florida’s ports. Cunard has shown an interest in Southern Californian Ports with the Queen Victoria sailing to various Los Angeles ports of call in early 2011. It is thought that many of the localized changes in itineraries is to boost pricing and give people an opportunity to travel on a luxury cruise ship without going too far from home with the poor state of the economy at the moment. You can find many cruise ship jobs on these and other cruise liners and travel all over America and the rest of the world while earning money. You can search for your ideal job on the Cruise Job Finder website.

Holland America Cruises are travelling throughout Bermuda, Hawaii, and the Caribbean Islands with stops at New York, Fort Lauderdale, Hamilton, San Diego, Panama, and St George, as well as Vancouver to Hawaii. Mexico is another cruise destination that will be frequented with stops as far as Acapulco. There will also be longer cruises to Australia, New Zealand, and other parts of the South Pacific.

Princess Cruises on the other hand have increased their European itineraries with 2 day cruises, 7 day getaways and longer cruises through Italy, the British Isles, the Mediterranean, Greek Islands, Scandinavia, Russia, the Norwegian Fjords, Egypt and Israel. There are 11 new ports that have been included in Princess Cruises’ 2010 schedule including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lubeck in Germany, Itea in Greece which is the gateway to the historic Delphi archaeological site, Eidford in Norway, Koper in Slovenia, Nice in France, Newcastle in Northern England, Portimao in Portugal, Tangiers in Morocco, Constanta in Romania.

Crystal Cruises, voted the best cruise liner by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure, is offering its famous 15th annual World Cruise set to depart from Miami on the 10th January 2010. This is a 108 day cruise with a distinct Middle Eastern flavor, with ports of call including Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, South Africa, Egypt, Brazil, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Turkey and many others. There are a total of 37 exciting countries that will be visited.

In a recent survey done, most travelers would prefer to travel to Asia Pacific over the next 2 years. The survey consisted of 5554 leisure travelers from 11 different locations around the world, and 60 percent of them named Asia Pacific as the top place they would like to travel to. This was the first time since the survey began that Australia and New Zealand were added to the list, with Australia making an impressive entry at being listed the number one destination by 43 percent of the voters.

Whether or not these figures pan out accordingly will have to be seen, as the PATA Board Director Meranda Chan stated that the top three destinations that previous survey takers had actually visited over the past 3 years where China, Thailand, and Hong Kong. If you want to get in on the action and start earning some great money working in the tourism and hospitality industry, you can search for plenty of cruise ship jobs in these Asia Pacific regions by looking in the member’s area of Cruise Job Finder. You can also find plenty of travel jobs at airports in these regions, so make sure you also check out the Airline Job Finder website.

A recent year-long study off the coast of Alaska in the Outer Continental Shelf by the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Institute of Social and Economic Research and Northern Economics Inc, has revealed that a new development could create 35 000 jobs throughout the state every year. This Outer Continental Shelf Development will offer much needed job security and new jobs for the major cities in Alaska as well as the more rural areas creating a 5 percent statewide increase in the population. This is great news for Alaska’s economy, because aside from the actual development that will create oil jobs and gas jobs in Alaska, it will also provide additional opportunities for travel jobs, tour guide jobs, Alaskan fishing jobs, and much more.

Shell Exploration and Production was responsible for paying for the study and they are interested in leasing the areas off the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas as well as the North Aleutian Shelf. The break-down of the jobs that are needed are as follows:

6000 jobs in direct oil production and in the oil fields

3000 jobs in infrastructure such as in the creation of pipelines etc

22 000 jobs in indirect support like transportation and engineering

4000 jobs in the state and local government near offshore production areas

The revenue that would be generated from the Outer Continental Shelf is expected to exceed $15 billion for the state with an estimated $10 billion of that due to the additional crude oil flowing through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Production. The total development will include 13 major oil fields offshore as well as 13 platforms across the Chukchi, Beaufort and North Aleutian areas. This new development is expected to provide jobs and offer job security in oil production for the next 50 years. If you want to find oil jobs in Alaska check out the member area of Alaska Job Finder or Oil Job Finder today!

The Mediterranean is one of the most interesting and safest yachting destinations in the world and the perfect place to start your yacht crewing career. You have a choice of 22 countries surrounding the Mediterranean that you can explore, making this the best base possible for travel enthusiasts. Aside from the countries that you can visit, within each of them there are 6 large islands, namely Corsica, Majorca, Crete, Sicily, Cyprus, and Sardinia, with around 3300 small islands around Greece, Croatia, Italy, and Spain.

The yachting life on the Mediterranean gives you the unique opportunity to visit hundreds of different locations and earn good money in the process. You can in fact spend the rest of your life sailing the Mediterranean and never get bored. It is the perfect place to get a crewing job such as a captain, first mate, steward, deckhand, or hospitality jobs including a massage therapist, beautician, chef, manager and more.

Yachting takes place in a number of categories:

Luxury, private yachting on the vessels of millionaires.

Charter yachting where a tour group will be shown various places in the Mediterranean.

Do-it-yourself yachting where an individual or family will hire a crew to sail their yacht.

The Mediterranean countries and islands provide a continually warm and sunny backdrop for year-round sailing, and they offer a 6000 year history to impress and entice even the most discerning sea farer. Working on a yacht here allows you to visit more destinations in the shortest amount of time.

One of the reasons that the Mediterranean is such a perfect place for visitors and to work is the safety of it. There are no sharks and poisonous fish that you would find in tropical waters making it wonderful for swimmers and divers. It is also void of major storms and most of the mild storms are able to be missed by mooring on the leeward sides of islands.

Working in the Mediterranean has other perks besides the wonderful weather conditions and brilliant number of places that you can visit, but you get to meet lots of interesting people from all over the world, and most millionaires and celebrities have yachts in the Mediterranean, especially around the Greek Islands. It is a great opportunity to start an exciting maritime career.

If you want to find out more about working on a yacht or even on a cruise ship, you can learn all about maritime jobs, travel jobs, hospitality jobs, and more on Cruise Jobs Finder. Here you can upload your resume, search for current job openings, get job interview tips, learn about what salaries you can expect, find out what your specific job will entail, and much more. You will not only find jobs in the job center in the Mediterranean, but everywhere in the world including Africa, The Caribbean, North America, South America, Scandinavia, Australia, India and China, Russia, and many others. Don’t hesitate to find the ultimate yachting job, cruise liner job, beach resort job, or hotel job today!
